about me
Kelsey Quinn Leary is a visual communicator based in Syracuse, NY who graduated from Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts with a BFA in Art Photography and a minor in Photojournalism. She completed her documentary photography thesis project, Love and Memory, about the relationships between caregivers and dementia patients inspired by her own experiences, and displayed this work in print in an annual BFA show. Other significant work includes Seashells, a book about her experience growing up around pediatric cancer and losing a loved one to the disease, and a project exploring how art therapy can be beneficial in situations of community grief.
Kelsey worked as the Web and Digital Media Director for CitrusTV, SU’s student-run television station, and as the Public Relations Manager for their synchronized skating team, exercising her communication and media skills. Kelsey is currently studying Design at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications where she is working towards her MS and beginning her Master’s project about the use of design in enhancing Alzheimer’s research. She hopes to continue similar work, combining both her photography and design passions to bring empathy and visibility to stories that need it.
